Georgia Writers
A local club made up of 500 writers, authors, publishers and agents. We meet once a month to hear a speaker talk about the world of writing then go have a few drinks at a nearby tavern.
Brain Surgery
Where I first discovered the joys of virtual agency freelancing. Bill Mount is one of the coolest, most brilliant and funny people I know.
BMW
All about ultimate driving. Too bad they don't feature some of the older models I've owned: the 1969 1600 and the zippy 1972 2002 (the last year of the round tail lights).
DMB&B
My first really big gig in New York. Pat Peduto was the creative director for our group, and I still remember his "funnel theory."
Margeotes | Fertitta
First job in NYC where I paid my dues and learned the hard lessons.
Equant
The world's largest single private network. I've done a lot of work for these guys, including some web content.
Brasstown Valley Resort
More web content. I did this site for an amazing $300 flat fee (don't ask).
Portfolio Center
Although now predominantly a studio for tomorrow's best table-top photographers, it was once the hot place to study art direction and copywriting. That hot place is now The Creative Circus.
Under the pen name of Kiki Freem, I've published several short works:
Insolent Rudder
A zine for flash fiction (under 1,000 words) that was run by the best editor in the business: Tim Ljunggren.
Cenotaph Short Stories
This zine ran my flash story about being a blonde with a rhinestone gun in the old West. Unfortunately, they demanded that I edit out all the naughty bits.
Literally Horses
A magazine for short stories that involve horses and our relationships with them. They accepted a 4-page story ("Under the Straw") I wrote when I was 13 years old.
Also under my pen name, I do editing:
National Novel Editor Month
Novel editing in one month? Yes, it was a challenge, and I am listed as one of the few who successfully edited a novel within the 30-day time frame.
